If you and your partner are different body weights you may find you require different levels of support. A Vispring combination tension mattress allows you to share one sleeping surface, whilst catering for both body types, by selecting a different spring tension on either side, providing the correct level of support for you both (e.g. soft + medium or medium + firm).
If you opt for a Vispring combination tension mattress, then to turn the mattress, you can flip it from top to toe.
If you are both differing weights but do not want a combination tension, then you must opt for the tension that will best support the heavier person. You can then always add a mattress topper for extra softness for the lighter weight person.

The Vispring Bedstead Mattress collection are mattresses that have been designed specifically for slatted bases. Whilst Vispring do have a specific mattress collection for bedsteads, you can put any Vispring Mattress on to a slatted base, when doing so we always recommend using a Vispring Mattress Pad. This protects your mattress from the wear and tear of a slatted base.
No. You can pair any Vispring mattress with a slatted base. However, a bedstead mattress would be recommended for a bedstead base as it is crafted with a wool pad either side of the springs to protect the springs from uneven wear of a slatted base.
Put simply, yes you can. However Vispring have specifically recommended a pairing for each model of mattress and divan base. These are paired based on the spring count and upholstery fillings used within both the Vispring mattress and the Vispring divan base, to better complement each other and provide the optimum level of comfort and support. Using a Vispring Divan Base has been found to increase comfort by up to 40%.
All Vispring mattresses have a 30-year product guarantee against their craftsmanship. With regards to the comfort it is recommended to consider a new mattress after 10 years as our bodies and preferences change over the years.

When adding drawers to a Vispring High Divan Base (also known as a Deep Divan Base) this will reduce the spring type from a 6’’ pocket spring to a 3’’ pocket spring to allow space for the drawers. This does mean the comfort of a drawer divan base will feel just very slightly firmer than the comfort of a Vispring divan base with no drawers.
If you decide that you have ultimately chosen the wrong Vispring mattress spring tension to suit you, you may make a one-time only exchange of your Vispring mattress for a different spring tension. Simply get in touch with one of our team who will get the ball rolling. Please note this exchange does hold a small fee of £100 and must be evoked between 30 and 90 nights of your mattress being delivered. Your new mattress will remain the same model and the same size however it will be made with your new spring tension. Your existing mattress will then be collected at the same time as your new mattress is delivered, and then subsequently returned to Vispring and donated to a charity.
Vispring design their High Divan Bases with a 6’’ pocket spring and their Shallow Divan Bases with a 3’’ pocket spring. When choosing your Vispring divan base you will find the High Divan Bases offer a greater level of support, as they are made with the deeper spring unit. If however you decide to add drawers to your High Divan it will then be made with a 3’’ spring unit, the same as the Shallow Divan.
All Vispring Mattresses are hand crafted with the finest all-natural upholstery fillings to provide a sleeping surface that will wick away moisture, as well as being highly breathable, to prevent overheating during the night.
Your Vispring mattress should be turned every other week within the first three months of receiving your mattress. This will encourage the springs and upholstery fillings to settle. After this your Vispring mattress should be turned seasonally. Turning your mattress will reduce bodily impressions and allow the fillings to settle evenly and increase the longevity of your mattress.
Your Vispring Mattress will have a label that states the mattress tension of the spring. This label is located at the headend of your mattress, sewn into the piping.
